Find volunteers
Carthage College recognizes the responsibility and positive impact we can make in our community, and service is an integral part of living and learning at Carthage. We prepare our students for lives of service and progression to leadership by providing opportunities in which students can give of themselves and help others — locally, nationally, and internationally.
Collaborate with Carthage
The Aspire Center uniquely integrates employer relations with community engagement in order to develop reciprocal opportunities and create spaces for innovation. We strive to develop meaningful and long-lasting partnerships with area employers, because we know such partnerships help companies meet their staffing needs and project goals, and help our students gain valuable experience. The Aspire Center can work with you to create distinctive, collaborative experiences with students, alumni, and faculty.
Grant and partner-sustained initiatives
Carthage College vigorously pursues grants, gifts, and other forms of funding to address the needs of the community in collaboration with local, regional, and national organizations. These partnerships are forged from a common mission based on the directive of the organization and expertise of the faculty.
Community-based research
Carthage faculty and students have used course projects, independent research projects, and senior theses to improve quality of life for those in Kenosha, Racine, and beyond. For example, in 2019, Carthage students helped a local health agency by producing detailed maps of opioid overdoses in a geographic information science class. In 2020, Carthage students partnered with the Boys and Girls club to enhance art programming.
